Beaver Island has two established campgrounds. Both are owned and operated by the Townships on the Island. Also, approximately 35% of the Island is State forest land.

From April 1st to the last of November
FEES:
$5.00 per day, per site.
RESERVATIONS:
There are no reservations taken. It is on a first come, first serve basis. Note: Campgrounds are rarely full more than one day at a time.
SHOWERS:
The Emerald Isle Hotel offers a dedicated bath, soap and towels included. $10.00 per adult, $5.00 per child.

SAINT JAMES TOWNSHIP CAMPGROUND
LOCATION: St. James Township Campground is located on the north end of Beaver Island. It is on Donegal Bay Road one mile outside the Harbor. The campground overlooks Lake Michigan and Garden Island, with views of Squaw and Whiskey Islands.
BILL WAGNER PEAINE TOWNSHIP CAMPGROUND
LOCATION: The Bill Wagner, Peaine Township Campground is located on the East side of Beaver Island. It is seven miles south of the St. James Harbor, accessed via the East Side Road. The campground is on the shore of Lake Michigan with a view of the west coast of mainland Michigan.
SITES: There are twelve campsites in the park. All sites are rustic/primitive in nature. There are no showers or electricity. There are pit toilets and hand pumps.
