			THE BLUEBIRD BED AND BREAKFAST Box 1080 Beaver Island, MI 49782 (231) 448-2600 The Bluebird is Beaver Island's Historic Bed and Breakfast and is located on forty acres. Its structure was built over 120 years ago and is a fine example of hewn-log craftsmanship. Behind the beautifully restored and furnished Bluebird, there is a century old apple orchard with over a hundred trees, and a scenic nature trail will lead you around our forty acre farm. SPECIAL EVENT: Enjoy a weekend of Peace & Quiet on beautiful Beaver Island this May: Mother & Daughter Renewal Weekend THE BLUEBIRD´s HIGH-TECH SECRETS: The historical structure of the Bluebird also hides some interesting technology. Through a grant from the US Department of Energy, the Bluebird has been actively assisting in the design of new photovoltaic technologies. The entire south facing roof of the house is covered in specially designed solar panels which produce all of the electricity used by the Bluebird. To maintain the aesthetics of the historic structure, the panels are laminated directly to a historically accurate standing seam metal roof and as such do not look anything like the boxy structures previously used for this purpose.




		THE ROOMS: The Bluebird has three guest rooms, each with a queen sized bed and private bath and sleeps two people. There is an ample amount of common space for relaxing, including a parlor with an 1890's vintage grand piano, a comfortable library and dining room, and a large south facing covered porch. We provide a smoke-free home. Other than our own small dog, we do not allow pets. Check-in is 3:30 PM. Check-out is 10:30 AM. To help with your luggage we offer free pick-up service to and from the ferry or airport.

The Garden Room- Overlooking Denemy's Orchard is the smallest room. $90.00/night

Mary's Room- With massive log walls and surrounded by towering antique Lilac bushes. $100.00/night
