BEAVER ISLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL promotes the variety and tradition of all music and art, creating opportunities for all artists, an educational resource, and strongly encouraging community and family involvement in an outdoor environment combining nature, renewable energies, music, and artwork. MUSEUM WEEK Discover Beaver Island history - a week full of informative and entertaining events. BAROQUE ON BEAVER Concerts, Summer Music Camp, and surprise musical events around the island! HOMECOMING Celebration and time to come together for all Islanders; famous softball tournament. RUN BEAVER ISLAND MARATHON AND HALF MARATHON Qualify for the Boston Marathon while enjoying the scenic beauty of the most remote inhabited island in the Great Lakes. Beaver Island offers a serene, relaxed life-style and run.  Enjoy beautiful and rare wild flowers along the old roads and trails as you run on pavement and "foot-friendly" clay, dirt and gravel roadways. BITE OF BEAVER ISLAND See what the best professional and amateur chefs on the Island have to offer - sample a wide variety of treats. Under sponsorship of the BICAA, the Baroque on Beaver Festival will have more concerts, an expanded Summer Music Camp, and some surprise musical events around the island!

In 2002 when regular island visitor, Chas Kurtz, Prof. Emeritus of Concordia University, Seward, NE brought both the music and the "persona" of J.S. Bach to Beaver Island, he was joined by some 30 musicians who performed to an overflow crowd at the log cabin chapel - St. James Episcopal Mission. Over the last four years that single concert has evolved into an exciting four day festival. This year, approximately 80 professional, student, and amateur musicians from Beaver Island, mainland Michigan, and eight other states joined in the celebration.
