Beaver Island Celtic Festival
The Beaver Island Celtic Fest 2010 will take place Friday, June 18th to Sunday June 20th 2010 and will once again kick off with a "killer Celtic concert!"

    Here is a sample of what the 2009 Celtic Festival brought to the Island so you can get a sense for next year -- watch for details on 2010 to be posted.

    8pm SLIDE, Ireland in Concert at the Community Center. The incredible quintet from Ireland that rocked the Island last year returns! A non-stop show of fabulous musicianship, dancing and laughter, featuring introductions of "Star" Athletes and performers.Tickets: $15/Adv  $20/DOS

    10am the GAMES begin! At the Bud McDonough Memorial Ball Park. Athletes will "warm up" with the 16# Stone Throw followed by: 56# Weight-for-Distance, 28# Weight-for-Distance, 56# Weight for-Height, and then…Lunch!

    11am-5pm Artisans Market, Food Booths and Kids' Booth

    Lunchtime Entertainment: Grand Traverse Pipes and Drums with Dancers
    The masters of the Great Highland Bagpipes give a "preview" of the evening's concert fare!

    1pm (approximately) Caber Toss! Athletes heft, balance and toss a 18-foot, 150-pound cedar tree end-over-end!
    Followed by: 16# Hammer toss, an audience participation event, capped off with the grand finale "Hero Stone" competition.

    4pm (approximately) Awards Presentation!

    8pm Grand Traverse Pipes and Drums in Concert at the Community Center. Powerful, majestic…mesmerizing. A fascinating show full of legend, lore, history, color and dance!
    Tickets: Free-will Donation 

Photographs from 2008: Athletes toss 28# quarter and 56# half weights  pitch the 16# sheaf, and the audience favorite, the caber toss, a 150-pound, 18-foot cedar tree balanced and tossed end over end.
