AMVETS POST 46
As one of America's foremost veteran's service organizations, AMVETS (or American Veterans) has a proud history of assisting veterans and sponsoring numerous programs that serve our country and its citizens. The helping hands that AMVETS extends to veterans and their families takes many forms. Locally Post 46 has a number of fundraising events including pancake breakfasts and raffles. BEAVER ISLAND COMMUNITY SCHOOL
Beaver Island Community School is a world-class Pre-K through 12 public school system located on the most remote inhabited island in the Great Lakes. BICS has a strong tradition of academic excellence and caring. The school follows a community-defined plan, 21st Century Learning on Beaver Island, to ensure that all students meet defined expectations. The school boasts a high teacher-to-student ratio, a music and art program, outstanding access to technology, and an intramural and interscholastic sports program. Students who graduate from BICS score higher than state and national averages on the ACT test and have been accepted into post-high school programs ranging from work placement, to community college to universities such as UM, MSU, Northwestern, Michigan Tech, GVSU, and CMU. BEAVER ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Visit the old Mormon Print Shop museum, or see the nautical exhibits at the Marine Museum.  The Protar Home is open when posted.  The Museums are opened on request year-around. BEAVER ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE SCHOOL
National Register historic lighthouse buildings. Free self-guided lighthouse tower climbs open to public daily. Original historic French-made "Fresnel Lens" on display. Donations accepted.  Scheduled interior tours open after renovation completed. Renovation donations sought.  Public access to Lake Michigan, scenic bluff sidewalk, scenic vistas of Fox Islands and mainland. BEAVER ISLAND WILDLIFE CLUB
The Beaver Island Wildlife Club is a volunteer organization created to preserve wildlife on Beaver & Garden Islands and improve the fishery of the Island's lakes and nearby waters. The Club is currently working to improve the fishery through a walleye rearing program on Lake Geneserath, and bolster wildlife habitat through food-plot development on public and private lands. It conducts a winter turkey feeding program and is working to increase awareness of the problems associated with the Double Crested Cormorant's presence in nearby islands.  The Club hosts the annual hunters' dinner in November.  Dues are $15.00 for one year, $50.00 for five years, and $200.00 for a lifetime membership.  Our address is P.O. THE PORT OF ST. JAMES ASSOCIATION
The Port of St. James Association is a Michigan Not-for-Profit corporation that is charged with the administration of the property within the Association so as to protect its natural beauty and administer the covenant that is recorded against all property in the association. BIEMS provides 24 hour Advanced Life Support coverage to the residents and visitors of Beaver Island. BIEMS is primarily staffed by all-volunteer Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Medical First Responders. (231) 448-2578. Call 911 for Emergencies.
