THE HOMESTEAD
The Homestead is a home away from home for those looking to relax and enjoy island living. Located on Kings Highway, right past the Health Center, it is a 3-minute drive, or 8-minute bike ride/walk to Paradise Bay (town and public beach), and a 5-to-8-minute drive to the beach/sunsets on Donegal Bay. The Homestead can accommodate 15 guests and consists of a main house tastefully furnished in modern farmhouse style that comfortably sleeps 7 in three bedrooms. The large master bedroom has a king size bed, a sitting area and an on-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. A second bedroom has a king size bed and plenty of closet space. An open floor plan in the downstairs living area allows for inflatable air mattresses (provided) if needed. We provide all 100% cotton linens, bath & beach towels, pillows, and blankets so there’s no need to bring your own. Along with a fully equipped kitchen is a microwave, toaster oven, smoothie blender, and full-size coffee maker. This home is also equipped with a washer/dryer, gas grill, a TV & Blu Ray DVD player with movie library, game cabinet, and yoga mats with cushions. “What’smore” is an outdoor fire pit complete with firewood, all ready to toast some tasty treats and make summer memories around the campfire! Stay in this charming Victorian Bed & Breakfast with a beautiful view of the harbor. Built in 1902 by Capt. John McCann for his family. This family were boat-builders and the craftsmanship shows in the lovely woodwork created before the use of power tools. Walk a few blocks to the downtown, or sit on the porch to watch the boats. An extensive breakfast is included with smoked fish, eggs or waffles or dutch baby, juice, coffee, fresh fruit, etc. There are wonderful gardens to enjoy with hydrangeas, spirea, holly, old roses, hostas, herbs, heuchera, trumpet vines and trillium. No pets allowed. Small children are welcomed (Pack n’ Play bed and high chair available). Learn about the history of the island from your host, who is an artist, gardener, writer, pie-maker and forager. Come go back in time to a different time period in this modernized period house. This location is a favorite spot as it puts you within walking distance to town yet you are surrounded by woods on this 2 acre waterfront parcel. A small climb down to the shore to launch your kayak and off you go! The night skies on the Island are glorious and in this location with nothing but water in front of you may lead to a few Northern Light sightings. A large deck on the waterside for entertaining and a small deck out in front of the kitchen for grilling. Propane grill, kayaks, and bicycles will help make your stay enjoyable. With hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and many inland lakes to explore it is hard to be bored on Beaver Island. Four Bedrooms, 1 King, 2 Queens, a twin trundle and a downstairs area for extra’s with an additional twin trundle. Linens and towels are provided. 2 baths with showers and 1 bath with tub/shower. A large kitchen to accommodate everyone has two snack bars and stools for extra dining along with the dining area, and all the amenities you will need for your home away from home. WIFI is included and 2 TV’s with DVD player for those rainy days. Rates are June through October at $3,500/week with nightly pricing at $620/night with a 3 night minimum. Located in the Harbor district of Beaver Island, just past the Whiskey Point Brewing Company and McDonough’s Market. This cozy, historic home has a beautiful view of the harbor. The birding trail wanders right past the house, and there is a 27-acre nature preserve 100 yards down the road. Spend all day in the hammock, or visit the nearby museum, lighthouse, toy store, and deli. It’s an easy walk downtown for more restaurants, museums, shopping, and beaches with kayaks and paddleboards for rent. The home is ideal for a large family or multiple families. The first bedroom has a king bed and 2 twins. The second bedroom has a queen bed and 2 twins. The master bedroom has a queen bed. Linens are included. The newly updated kitchen is well equipped with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, range, dishwasher, 2 full size refrigerators, and an ice maker. There is a bonus deck right off of the dining area. Ten minutes walk from the ferry dock, restaurants and grocery store. On a quiet street away from the busier downtown area. Enjoy 140’ of your own private, sandy Lake Michigan beach on the north shore. Relax in one of the three hammocks swinging in the lake breeze under a stand of trees. Four beach loungers, beach toys, yard games and 4 adult bikes are provided. End the evenings with s’mores around the beach bonfire pit, firewood is provided.
